January 2021 - The Barnes Family
On a cold Sunday in January the Barnes family was out picking up litter along a section of roadway that is all to often used as an illegal dumping ground. They collected nine (9) thirty-gallon trash bags full of litter, 14 tires, three mattresses, a computer monitor, miscellaneous debris and one thirty-gallon bag of aluminum cans. The cans were donated to the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society and the City of Thomasville Public Works Department came by and hauled off the collected materials. A little bit of effort goes a long way.
February 2021 - South Georgia Adventures Group
South Georgia Adventures is at it once again, leading the way in 2021 with a litter pick-up around the Dollar Tree shopping center on Hwy 19 in Thomasville. The group led by Tim Hobbs did a fantastic job cleaning up litter and other debris that has been accumulating in this area for quite some time. The community is blessed to have people like this, that give of their time and teach their children how to be better stewards of our environment. Thank you Tim Hobbs, Michelle Mitchell, Brooklyn Mitchell, R Paul Mihail, and Marina Byrd for going above and beyond.
